When a single person or a family, which come either from abroad or another Italian Municipality, or even move home within the same Municipality, have to declare their new address at a registry office (in italian: Ufficio anagrafe) within 20 days from the day on which the transfer has taken place by means of a form which conforms to the one which has been published on the web site of the Italian Minister of the Interior (see Modulo 1 residenza).
The same procedure has to be followed in case of a transfer abroad (see modulo 2 cancellazione).
The statement can be made, in case of a family unit, by any major member of the family. The other major members have to add their signatures and to attach a photocopy of a valid identity document.
In case of false declarations, the declarant will be denounced to the competent authorities for their criminal liability under the articles 75 e 76 of the Italian Presidential Decree 445/2000.
The person who is asking the transfer of residence or the change of address must complete all the compulsory fields in the form by writing in a clear way. The compulsory fields are marked by an asterisk. Furthermore he has to enclose the necessary documents, otherwise the application will be considered as INADMISSIBLE.
You have to indicate clearly:
- The biographical data of all the family members;
- The Municipality or the foreign Country they come from;
- The complete exact address with the street number and the suffix;
- In the case of a cohabitation, the name, the birth date, the birth place of the people who already live in the apartment, to whom the Municipality will communicate the opening of the procedure of the transfer of residence to the same apartment.
